I have ten days(maybe 12 total if needed) in October I have to burn for PTO or I lose it. Looking at a diving trip to renew my faith in this hobby after an abysmal experience in Koh Tao in May.

Criteria:
-Not in North or South America
-Not in Thailand , Aussie, Egypt or Europe.
-Looking to do 5-7 days of diving
-Lady friend is wanting to snorkel, so somewhere that has a few snorkel spots or easy open water scuba spots

Was thinking Semporna, Bali, Lembeh, Sabang or Palau.

Open to suggestions and appreciate serious responses.

Raja Ampat. I dove there in the 70's now it has been environmentally developed for fantastic diving. No more percussion or acid fishing. Pulau is also incredible with one of the Cousteau sons having dive camps there. Had a friend that did Truk which has always been on my bucket list.

I have 7 days liveaboard booked for 2025 in Tubattaha. Then 7 days in Dauin after.

Been there already.

I dove the Maldives on my honeymoon and it was great. There'd be plenty of easing snorkeling for your lady friend there, but you better really like her because it isn't cheap.

I dove west of Natunas which was great but have wanted to do Manado. Had S. African friends do it and loved their trip. Also Manado has the prettiest girls in Indonesia.

Send me where yall went. I can't remember which island.

BTW I just got my D800 Ikelite housing. It's purty.....

We spent a week each at Puerto Galera and Dumagete.

Fiji was by far and away the best diving I've ever experienced

Best snorkeling is right on the private beach at the resort. Dive companies will come and pick you up at their dock. Good wreck diving (WW2), drift diving and there is even cave diving.

Truk Lagoon!

Truk is amazing, but is deep enough you really want to be tech certified.

I did Aldabra atoll in the Seychelles last year. Loved it and nice to see a protected site with huge grouper

I dove in French Polynesia. Bora Bora, Moorea, Taha'a. Reef was pretty dull. Very very sharky which is cool but I want to see other stuff too. One dive I counted 20 sharks but quit counting about halfway through. I was first in on one dive and a lady had equipment problem on the boat, so I had to just float for a while with seven sharks circling. Eh, not so fun. Divemasters fed them which is why they show up with divers. If no sharks, it would have been boring.

That overwater hut in Bora Bora at the Four Seasons tho... Amazing.

In related news, the SS United States under tow to Mobile where it will be sunk 20-miles off Destin, FL in 180-feet of water. Been rusting at the dock in Philadelphia for 30-years, now headed to the Redneck Rivera.
