Anyone know the waters between the inter coastal and West End Marina ? Can we take a 40 foot whaler from the channel across to the marina? My buddy w the boat doesn't know west beach at all, we can get to the inter coastal via Galveston but that's about as far as our knowledge goes. We believe there is a cut to get over there but we just aren't familiar with that area. We Probably should call that marina and hopefully they can help out

Those are nice charts, looks like it's plenty deep, we will just take it easy if we cut over to the marina, not gonna do this until Friday afternoon. I like that this chart shows what the bottom material is too, thanks.

In a boat that size i would suggest staying pretty far west as you get close to the icw as there are some spoil banks before you get into the channel farther east. Go at high tide if you can and watch for the pvc pipes that mark the cuts

I would cut straight from the marina towards hall's lake then take an immediate right into the ICW

Almost directly across the bay from West End Marina there is a rock barge loading zone. There are big wooden pilings there that even has signs with arrows. This is how the rock barges get in and out. The current Google Earth satellite view shows a double barge with one being red and one being grey in the ICW directly in front of the rock loading area. Can run straight to WEM.... then that channel in is marked with PVC poles. Good luck.

I do a lot of West Bay navigation trips showing hull wreckers, how to get around confederate reef, how to get around San Luis Pass, Cold Pass, Christmas Bay, Carancua Lake, Greens Lake, Meacums cut etc.....how to read and fish the West Bay coves etc....if anyone needs a safe track around West Bay for a lifetime if exploring and fishing. Ends up being 5hrs and 120 miles or so without ever touching a fishing rod.

I may need to do this with you when I have some time and your available, I'm gonna start fishing west bay some with my El Pescador cat but I really don't know Jack chit about that bay, I mostly fished POC / Rockport / San Antonio bay. / Bafin areas even though I live in Htown .. never fished down in west bay
