Howdy,

Heading into town this Friday and thought about taking my boys fishing until the gates open at the baseball game.

I'm not much of a fisherman so just wanted to ask if anyone here has fished there and if so, what bait to use.

My son fishes there regularly. He typically fishes with 4-5" Senko worms wacky rigged or smallish Texas rigged worms. This is him (blue shirt) and his roommate when the park opened

I use artificial but last week saw 2 kids using hotdogs tearing it up in front of the Distinguished Alumni area.

What concerns me with live bait and hot dogs etc is the increased chance of a gut hook and a dead fish.

Caught this on a buzzbait about a year ago.

There is a BBQ and Music Festival Saturday. So hopefully it is accessible for your Friday.

Went by this evening to get a report for ya but forgot my soft plastics so tried some new lures …

Small black and blue spinner - no bites.
Switched to a white rooster tail - no bites.

Some high school kids came and fished SPAM under bobbers and were tearing up little dinks closer to the alumni building and the ring statue. (In second pic)

Troubadour fest portapotties are all set up, looks like almost 100 or so.
