Bosch would be my pick due to how quiet they are.

We put a Kitchenaid KDTE204KPS in the new house and have really liked it so far. It's only been ~4 months though

Top of the line kitchen aid or the top of the line Bosch. Both are considered the best respectively

Bosch is great. We have a KitchenAid that is quieter. Almost too quiet. Seriously, it's disturbing.

I'm a big fan of LG appliances. All of our appliances are LG, except the oven. And that's only because they didn't make ovens in the size we needed for our built in cabinets. Great quality.

I've had a Bosch for 11 years. Runs on well water. Quiet and bulletproof.

Our KitchenAid has worked well. Quieter than our Bosch. Not sure of model, but has 3 shelves, and has the red aluminum inserts on each end of the lfull-length handle on the front.

COWDOC. …… My fishing buddy owns an appliance repair company. He doesn't sell them just fixes them. He has been doing it a while. While fishin we talk a lot of good bull. I asked him what appliances he would buy.
He said the issue is that lots of brands just quit building parts after five years for various models.
He said Whirlpool/SubZero are business partners and that Whirlpool builds Jenn Aire, Kitchen Aid. He likes those brands because he says he can always get parts for them for lots of years.
He also talked highly of Bosch.
For what it's worth. Maybe he don't know nothin. I know I don't.

Bosch

We bought one a couple of years ago that has the button panel hidden on the top where you can't even see it when it's closed. If it wasn't for the little red light shining on the floor, you wouldn't even know it's running bc it's so quiet.

Bosch 800 series

100% agree. I've had one for about 2 months. Life changing. Super quiet and cleans great. The third rack took some getting used to and I had to play with the second and third to get the height right for our plates and tall cups but it was easy.

Our old Kitchenaid was a piece of junk. Clogged all the time with no pressure.

I had a 500 series bosch at my old house so was leaning that way before I read the 800. The crystal dry setting on the 800 is great. Everything will be dry. The lower level. bosch don't dry as well.

If you choose another brand look closely at the bottom floor for how you clean it out if it clogs. Kitchenaid and some other Whirlpool cousins require tools and removing the bottom sprayer. It's a horrible design. But look for ones kind Bosch and others wherever it's tray or basket strainer that pops out it 2 seconds.

My parents got a bosch about 10 years ago. Hooked everything up and started it, to test if it was running correctly. Obviously they hadn't read the manual at this point. This red light is shining from the bottom, but it doesn't seem to be running. My Moms kind of mad at this point. She paid a lot of extra money for the quiet model and it isn't working. My Dad finally said maybe it's so quiet we can't hear it. Mom laughs at this point, then opens the dishwasher. It was wet inside. Yep, it was just that quiet and they figured out the red light was there to let you know it was running.

A little disappointed that I'm the first to suggest this, but it's okay.

By the way, have a Bosch. No problems with it.

Most of them are all made in the same locations with different names slapped on them…

If you talk to experienced repair people, SPEED QUEEN is the one and only choice. There's a reason they are used in laundromats across America. It's also an American company and they are built in Wisconsin.

I think throwing my plates and glassware in a speed queen would be a terrible mistake...

Another vote on the Bosch 800. If it wasn't for the little red light, I would never know it was going. Crystal dry also is fabulous compared to most modern machines drying capability.

Wait a minute. The OB has come to a consensus on a brand of a product?

About as often as a full eclipse, I guess.

Our Kitchenaid has started leaving little specks of food stuck to everything. I clean out the spray arms all the time but they continue to get clogged. I end up have to handwash stuff after the cycle runs and it's real annoying.

We have a Bosch 300 series. My only complaint is that it turns over plastic cups and fills them with water.

Regardless of what you choose, I would recommend Costco. Their prices are usually cheaper than Lowe's, Home Depot & Best Buy plus they don't charge for delivery or haul off.

Wow! Hardly anyone says this as usually Samsung and LG are the appliance brands people are complaining about. Glad you have had good luck!
La Fours

Samsung is for sure one that I see lots of complaint about. Not so much with LG.

We bought our LG washer and dryer in 2011, and both are still going strong. We updated all of our kitchen appliances (except for the oven) in early 2020, before the pandemic, to LG and have been very happy.
