Howdy-
In late January, a very sweet Anatolian Pyrenees wondered onto our family property in Central Texas. She would not leave our side. After spending several days searching for the owner, we made the decision to bring her to our main home in College Station to have her checked out by our vet and have her checked for a chip. She did not have a chip, but we did discover she was pregnant.
We did not have the heart to take her to the shelter, so we decided to divide and conquer. She has been living with my husband at our place north of Temple and I am back in CStat, traveling to help on weekends. She had nine, yes nine, healthy puppies who are all now 5 weeks old. It has been a wonderful experience learning and helping her with these puppies, but now we are searching for homes for these great dogs in the coming weeks. We are unsure of what type of dog she bred with. We did do a DNA test and are awaiting the results.
The more I have learned about these types of dogs, the more I have realized the importance of finding them the right home and family. So far we have 3 of the 9 adopted out to good families that know how to properly care and train this type of dog. If any of you are interested or would have any suggestions on how to go about finding good homes for them, I'd really appreciate it.
