Late, short, warm winter and early spring.

Winter seemed to drag its feet, pushed by a brutal summer and late fall. I don't think we got our first freeze until January. Avg first is early Nov.

And now here is spring. Oak trees dropping leaves at the same time the red buds are blooming…pretty odd combo. The oaks are ahead of schedule, but following these temps.

Hoping for a long slow spring, as the scars of last summer are still pretty fresh.

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

I got a foot of snow from 2am till now. It will be -2 tonight.

Pretty normal winter really. Last year was an ass kicking though.

January was the coldest month since the Snowpocolypse month of February 2021. And of course all the local yokels complained about their electric bill being higher than normal.

Bluebonnets in South Texas and the Mesquite isn't budding.

Bluebonnets getting started in Central Texas, trees starting to leaf out (not Pecans or Mesquites yet)

We had our last freeze on March 12 in Travis County in 2022.

I raked leaves Saturday, and it already looks like I didn't do it at all. One reason I'm not a fan of live oaks.

Boring. Same every day. 50 overnight and then 75 and sunny all day. Repeat again tomorrow.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Live Oaks. Right now I hate them

Today's high was 79. Cold front coming this evening and low to be 32. Tomorrow high of 48 with low of 27.
No trees blooming yet. No grass growing either.
Have had good rains though.

Brazos county we had a couple a freezing nights the last norther a week or so ago. Suspect that might be the last one. Might get a surprise front right after I have garden planted! Seems to get real close sometimes.

Post oaks have pollen starting. Still have a a lot of Cedar trees dying. Mosquitoes have been bad lately.

Need rain again.

In the panhandle it's the freezing in the morning, hot in the evening, windy dirt storm and fire storm time of year.

Broke the high temp record for this day today by 10 degrees. Forecast to drop 40 degrees overnight and snow tomorrow.

Same here, without the bluebonnets. Two peach trees blooming, I figure those fools will get bit before it's over. Dad always told me to watch the mesquites, they won't be fooled. When they start budding, it's done.

In the Permian Basin young mesquites will get fooled on a crazy year, but I have never seen and old mature mesquite leaf out and get a freeze.
