Whoever you go with make it very clear what you are wanting to target if not they will take you to catch whatever is easiest to bite your line, which might be what you want.

Pick one of the guys who launches out of Grayton. It will save you a long drive.

My son and I surf fish and have pretty good luck using sand fleas and hooking pompanos. Just get a heavy weight (we use 4 oz). Be willing to walk out past the first sand bar and give it a go. We own a place there so we can store our gear...but if you have to buy a combo setup it's not too bad.

Not much better than sitting on the beach with a cold beer, catching sun and potentially a fish or two.

Don't waste your time with a shallow water bay guide. Go offshore if you want some action. I've done the inshore bay option 4 times and swear I'll never go back each time.

We started going to Rosemary Beach Summer 2020 during covid insanity (used to go to Maui but they lost their collective you know what and with the kids 30A was just so much easier to get to).

First year there we went with Reel Rosie. Originally we had been planning on doing inshore and brackish water. Week we showed up a tropical storm was rolling through the gulf and had stirred the water up pretty bad. Garrison insisted that we could catch snapper near the shore off some structure and that the brackish water would be tough due to the storm rolling through.

It was one of the most fun fishing experiences I have been on. Red snapper, mangrove snappers, grouper, all about thirty minutes offshore and within sight of the beach. Caught limits of red snapper and ate fresh fish tacos the rest of the week plus some to take home. Highly recommend based on our experience

2nd ReelRosie. Took a 5 yo and a 10 yo and they had a blast pitching to mangrove snappers. Easy box of fish.

We used Shallow water expeditions and fished with Kyle Pitts. Caught tons of snapper. Wanted to do an inshore trip but the water looked like coffee. Switched it up and had a great time.

We've been down there several times but I always make the drive over to Pensacola to fish with the same guide we've used for years

Update…. Booked Capt Garrison Rosie as suggested above. He was great. Inshore fishing here however, is not that great. Guess we have it abut as good as it gets in Tx. They seem to get pretty excited about Sheepshead.

My experience with inshore along 30a was disappointing. I'm not excited for Spanish mackerel or sheepies, either. A bunch of mangroves would be fun!!
