Morning all! We are planning to get our graduating son a nice rifle and scope to send him off to college with (hoping he comes back often to see his mom and dad at the lease )
I think we've settled on a Bergara Ridge or Hunter in 7mm-08. He has a 7mm-08 now and is very comfortable with the ballistics and I've heard great things on the Bergara from the guy that trained him to shoot long distances

I know he'd like a scope that you can easily make MOA adjustments.....and I'd like to spend less than $1500 on the optics. Is that possible?
They guys we hunt with have Nightforce scopes that are out of our price range........

Any recs would be greatly appreciated!!

These are great. Also look at the Vortex Razor LHT.

I am partial to Nightforce and Leupold, it depends on how far he is really wanting to shoot. I'd say up to 500 a Leupold VX5hd 3-15x44 with CDS2 dial works great. If beyond that the nightforce SHV 4-14x50 FFP MOAR is hard to beat. I have had several and only upgraded for a nightforce NX8's and NXS's.

That's a pretty good deal on a great scope that will have you right at what you're looking to spend. Also eurooptic has some of the best scope prices around!

Nightforce is the Swaro of LR dialing scopes in your budget.

Since this is the OB, and one out of budget suggestion is required… Tangent Theta or S&B
