Gulps new penny assassin type body tx rigged weedless no weight used to buy the Texas Tackle factory wide gap hook. Also fish thumping minnows same way. Gotta keep tip up and be reeling when it hits the water or else just pick it up and show it to them off the bottom. Lighter mono line helps along with a fast tip rod

You can find these on EBay cheaper, but a 1/16 belly weighted Gamakatsu hook and these rigged weedless catches everything shallow and casts like a beast.

You ever sling flies? I mean, I'm here close, have a skiff, and use it at LEAST once every year of two. We could go!

I've seen a lot of people in Florida throw these with success. They look super realistic in the water, and seem perfect for a shallow water, high weeds application.

Ayto can tell you - I'm at least conversational, even if I can't see, or find any fish. I don't measure success by slimy hands - rather the quality of the company.

1/8 ounce gold spoon. Doesn't make much of a commotion when it lands. Usually works great blind casting and sight casting fish that are on the move.

In really skinny water (shin to ankle) casting to stationary redfish even a spoon can be too much. Lil John's rigged weedless work.
My son out caught me on a flat using a lil John rigged weedless. My spoon couldn't compete with the presentation. I was humbled.

I'm really looking forward to trying out some Z-Man Salty Ned Micro Finesse Shrimpz. They are only 2.5" and can be rigged with the z-man finesse jigs rigged weedless.

Haha, well I borrowed CP90's wading boots then promptly fell in the mud... So the bar is really low if you're on the bow.

CP90 will find the fish and pivot the boat so you get a bunch of easy, right-handed layups. But I recall some counting of redfish (and flounder on fly).. so be ready to deliver.

I haven't used them but I've seen a buddy have luck with Buggs. They fish about as close to fly fishing as I've seen on conventional tackle.

We used similar lures in Belize and Mexico for bonefish.

We would tip them with a piece of hermit crab.

FYI, took my daughters out today and they killed it with the Buggs that Centerpole put the link up for…sightcasted to tailers and they pounced on them…thanks for the rec!

I'm in the wrong place to provide a picture but Rapala makes a skitter type that is 1-1/2" long…tiny hooks.

I also have another similar lure that is 1"….I'm not sure if it's a Rapala. They are both great for tailing reds.
