How long do you want to ignore this user?
On November 17th I had posted another thread where I had seen a couple really good deer
https://texags.com/forums/34/topics/3421768

Now it seems the fun never stops, I got a text of a buck that one of my hunters took and wow! Should get some more pictures of it soon, hopefully at least. Haven't seen the measurements but they should be logged, what do yall think it scored?

Then yesterday afternoon/evening I was out and had mainly been taking pictures because it was a bunch of young deer. Hadn't even picked up binoculars to look closely. Unbeknownst to me, one of the young bucks is a DOUBLE drop tine. Didn't get too many great pictures because I only noticed when I was looking on my camera's little screen but by then he was already on the move.

Luckily, I was able to get some better pics of Mr. Double Drop Tine this morning (and hopefully will get some even better ones soon because I'll actually remember to bring the camera tripod)

What's the likelihood that the drops come back year to year?

looks to be about 3-4 and should blow up if given another year. we had one that looked similar a few years ago where the drops went from 2-3" to 6-8" the next year.

but in all honesty, he was still young and should have been given another year.......just couldnt do that on a low fence place with lots of surrounding pressure.

Definitely not guaranteed, but for him to be showing double drops while young is promising. Just have to keep feeding protein/cottonseed and hope there isn't a drought so the nutrition stays top notch.

Oh he'll live another year and I've already told the hunters who lease here that if they shoot him this year, they will be kicked off.

We had a mainframe 8-point two years ago that had double drops and he was ~4.5. He turned into a single drop last year and was still a mainframe 8. Then didn't have a drop at all this year, but was still a mainframe 8. My buddy shot him as a management deer a few weeks ago. Last year, he also had a small kicker started on his right G2. That was also noticeable again this year. Disappointing to say the least that he lost both of his drops.

Two years ago…..

Last year……

This year…..

That's a pretty deer and I just see countless deer tamales with him!
