I live in Dallas. I have a group of friends in Southern CO. I'm looking for somewhere in the middle of those 2 places to book a goose hunt, goose/duck combo, or something like that.

NOT looking for 5* lodging or super expensive.

I don't know squat about goose & duck hunting in west TX, the panhandle, or OK. Where, when, and who would you suggest. TIA for the rec's

You might try Tejas Waterfowl out of the Lubbock area. I am not adept at posting a link but you can check out their website. My sons and I have gone goose/crane hunting with them the last two years and they are hard workers with lots of land access.
I hope some of your crew aren't from Monte Vista - I know Sandhill Cranes are pretty sacred there.

Tule Creek Outfitters with Dane Swinburn. Or Salt Flat in Southern Kansas/Northern Oklahoma.

We hunted with Dry Creek outfitters, just north of Wichita Falls, and had some really good hunts a couple years.

West Texas local here, there's a ton of good outfits up here, but for every good one, there's 3 more that have an onx subscription and some decoys and charge people to hunt. They're all from out of town and I've heard complete horror stories. Try to find the established ones that live locally as they network among each other as well as land owners to get you the best hunt. Most of their guides are full time guides that follow the waterfowl migration from Canada and hunt half the year and guide fishing trips the rest of the year.

The outfits mentioned are both good, Sea to Sky is my recommendation if he has availability. I know Orin and his guides well and they are all pros. Crooked Wing, Blackfoot, Final Decent, Dust Devil, Cadillac Creek, Longneck are the ones that immediately come to mind.

One more word of advice: you can have some amazing duck hunts up here, we do it all the time, but just as easily get your ass kicked. The flight tends to be over pretty early so you only really get an hour, maybe 2 of shooting unless conditions are just right. Cranes and geese are my recommended hunt as long as you're paying for it

Look up Southern Wing Shooters, some young former Ags running it who are still ate up chasing these birds and do a great job doing so.

This is just mine and my buddies opinions. We all kinda thought the same thing after going with them two years in a row. Same group of 10 of us.

We didn't have the greatest time with Stanfield. They didn't really try too hard to put us on birds in our opinion. They were nice around the camp but we felt like the effort was lacking when it came to hunting with them. Especially in the duck hunting department. They stuck us at the same pond with no cover in A-Frames, like 75 yards from their lodge at about 2 o clock in the afternoon two years in a row.

We decided if we go back we will hunt with Ranger Creek around Knox City. They seem to stack em up.

Ranger Creek was shooting all the birds in the area the two different times I went with Stanfield. Out of 6 hunts, we had one good hunt. If you're hunting in that part of the world, my recommendation is definitely Ranger Creek.

Crooked wing outfitters is by far the best IMO and I've hunted crane with them several times.

They may be booked solid though.

Longneck outfitters is another good option

I've hunted with Coastal Wings in SW OK several times. The owner, Larry is an Ag c/o 95 I think? Great crew there!

I've taken a group of 12 for goose & crane with Tejas Waterfowl for 7 years in a row. Going again in January Highly recommend them.

Earlier this month I took a group of 16 on a 3-day goose hunt to Stanfield Outfitters in Knox City for a veterans hunt with the nonprofit I work with. Also highly recommend them.

Second these guys. They are just up the road from me. Did a thermal hog hunt too with them. Good dudes.
