Dylan is a good dude. Went with him on the Guadalupe a couple of years ago. Got tired of catching fish.

Been wanting to go out with him at Rockport.

He was with Wacha & Stripling

Have fished w DM many times. Float trips on the San Marcos and sight casting reds out of Rockport. He's really good. Would highly recommend.

Good to have another saltwater fly fisherman around the OB. Used to be quite a few of us, but attrition and life and the changing feel/tone of the OB have taken their toll.

Have you been down this rabbit hole?:

Has anybody used these guides before? We fly fished the Missouri River out of Cascade, Montana in May and there was a decal on the counter for these guys. Wife and I looked at each other and commented how the decal said Rockport and depicted what was obviously a Redfish. Owner of the company was there and said he spends summers in MT and goes back to Texas in the fall.

We did ok, not a lot of big fish but it was our first time fly fishing and definitely a lot of fun. I had to constantly keep reminding myself that setting the hook on these fish and a Black Drum is ENTIRELY different.

We used to rent a cabin on the Guadalupe river during the winter for 5-6 weeks. We would ride bikes, fish and entertain friends/ family.

On one of these trips, we needed two boats to float the river and Dylan was one of the guides!

The other couple on this trip were some guys we knew from A&M. One of the guys landed a big stocker from Dylan's boat. When I asked what he caught it in, Dylan replied a "Rainbow Warrior". I nodded and then proceeded to laugh out loud…. What Dylan didn't understand is that these guys in his boat are gay (neither gives a gay vibe). I quickly gave my friend the new nickname of "Rainbow Warrior". Poor Dylan gave us a courtesy laugh but didn't really understand why the rest of us were laughing hysterical!

He is a great guide and fun to chat with in a boat!

Nothing to add to this thread other than it's funny to see Cascade mentioned. My wife grew up in that town. Graduated from high school there.

My Dad and I snuck away to some of my FILs favorite fishing spots outside of town when we were there for a wedding.
