Saw these at TSC. Didn't know if they were just the new "in thing" or what. Anyone use one before? Need something for the patio.

And someday, people won't even know how to start a fire, or even know where wood comes from

Seems pretty inefficient and smoky for a patio heater. What is wrong with sweet lady propane?

Had one similar to this a couple years ago and although smelled nice it was a joke heating. Also useless in a breeze.

Nothing. Just had never seen one of these, so I was curious.

I've been curious about these as well. I live in town and getting logs can be expensive and requires it to be handled multiple times. So pellet heaters are an interesting idea for me.

I have a propane heater that sucks in the wind also.

This is much better to look at. Propane runs out fairly quickly. Is a pain to have filled / exchanged. Doesn't have a fire smell. People like different things.

I have that model on my porch. We love it! No smoke at all. Easy to start. Heats from the floor to the top. Can feel it in about a 10ft radius. Hopper lasts about 3-4hrs on the cheap pellets from Lowe's or Home Depot.

People have been using pellets in heaters for a long time. Not in the South so much, but I've seen pellet heaters lots of other places. They work well.

Can confirm. They were put there by a man in a factory downtown.
