That's over by the Mount Taylor/grants area west of Albuquerque. I think. I did not know that they had huge elk over there or even a large elk population.

Some of the biggest wild elk I've ever seen live on the hoof was south of Corona, NM, while we were hunting pronghorn. There were 4 350"+ bulls and a slew of cows and smaller bulls on the only flyspeck hill within 50 miles. One bruiser went 380", after it got shot the next year at a cattle water trough.

I'm surprised Quinn Ewers can take time off from t-sip football to go Elk hunting.

Love the New Mexico mountains. Considered buying land there but it's just too far away. Buddy of mine has a place out there and killed a massive elk this year.

That's a side profile of both antlers, not forced perspective. I understand what you're saying but there's not really a better way to show both antlers and the tine length than the way he took the picture.

Personally, I didn't feel that any of his pics are forced perspective. Most guys doing that with elk are sitting WAY behind the elk, like where they can barely reach its back tines, if at all. I think this thing may be so big, he is just standing about as close as he can behind it. Is he turning the head one way or the other, sure. But I think n that is just to show off all the points and not have them hidden. Nothing wrong with that I see.

Just my .02. I don't see anything egregious about these pics. Especially compared to most people trying to make a 250 look like a 380.

I was looking at my 320" elk mount last night, sitting below a 12' ceiling, and imagining how much lower it would have to hang to accommodate that monster. It would take a special room to really showcase that guy.

Looks like he used a crossbow....No mention of that yet.....The OB has gone sawft!!!!

If you scroll through the pics you'll see one where there's several other elk racks in the background. And they aren't much smaller.

That area has outrageous bulls. And it looks very little like what the average person would expect elk country to look like. I honestly think the heavy cattle operations over there help.
