Small bird with long split tail

Tail is longer than body

Sounds like a parakeet

Milam/Burleson county line between Caldwell and Rockdale

Haven't noticed them until last weekend

Are the Kyle field parakeets migrating?

Seeing them fly around they really remind me of the parakeets I shot in Argentina

Piggybacking on here. What's this? Some sort of oriole?

Audubon Oriole, perhaps

All black head and more orange than yellow - I'm going with Baltimore Oriole. Was this in Texas? This is the time of year they can be migrating through a large portion of Texas.

If he hangs around, put out a plate with some grape jelly. They love that stuff. Makes me wonder how they know that jelly is edible, since it doesn't occur naturally. Unless there is a jelly tree that I don't know about.

I'll wager Texas with the whitewing in the pic.

If you look closely in the first picture, looks like a mourning dove and white wing… so you need to be more specific

Both appear to be juveniles, too

I saw the opposite of that bird last year and it stood out to me... I wasn't sure what it was

then i did some digging, and its the most damn un-original bird name ever.

The yellow headed blackbird..

yours might as well be called the black headed yellowbird..

More like a Baltimore Oriole since that bird shows orange and black. They are migrating south thru Texas right now.

I don't know, doesn't resemble the Baltimore Orioles I'm familiar with.

OP, is this your bird?

The other two are a white-winged dove up top and Baltimore oriole below. The lower dove appears to be a juvenile whatever it is. Mourning or Inca.

Scissor-tail. Only bird my Grandpa said not to shoot on the farm. Not sure why, maybe they did not use cotton for nests? Rest he did not care about.

Brooks Robinson just passed and now he have a thread about Baltimore Orioles. OB is always ahead of the pack.

RIP Brooks, my first real baseball glove was a Brooks Robinson model.
