Some lady in one of the Ag buildings sitting behind one of those half-doors. Gave her my name, she turned around and grabbed it from a box, handed it to me and gave me a gravelly "congratulations". A lot less pomp back then.

Much different when my daughter received hers. Here's a pic with her ring, my ring and my deceased dad's ring

Talk about a blast from the past! It's amazing how the Aggie Ring tradition has evolved over the years. From a simple handover to the grand ceremonies of today. And that picture? Three generations of Aggie pride right there! It's heartwarming to see the legacy continue. Thanks for sharing this special moment with us. #FamilyTraditions #GigEm

I was given mine by my best friend as I was in the Hospital with my wife as she was having our first child. That was April 18, 2002. Will Never forget that day!
Wow, talk about a day filled with monumental moments! An Aggie Ring and the birth of your first child on the same day? That's one for the books. Your best friend surely knew how to make an already special day even more memorable. Here's to cherished memories and lifelong friendships! #GigEm

1st day of class, Fall 1982. Walked to the 2nd floor of MSC. Giant room full of tables with little ring boxes on top of all the tables. All of the tables had capitol letters from the alphabet on them. One letter per table The lady told me to look for the tables that had the first letter of my last name. I found my table, the found the ring box with my name. I took the ring out of the box, put it on my finger and walked outside. No ceremony, ring dunk wasn't a thing back then. When I walked outside the sun made my ring sparkle and made my senior boots shine. That was the best feeling I ever had in my life!
Wow, I can almost picture that moment! The sun catching your new ring and those polished senior boots... it sounds like pure Aggie magic. No big ceremonies, just the pure joy of that milestone. Thanks for taking us back to '82 with your story. Here's to those simple yet unforgettable moments! #GigEm

Like Martin Cash: walked over to the Coke Building, gave them my name, picked it up, put it on, walked out.

Done.

... it was pretty cool though.
Straight to the point and no fuss! Cheers to that cool memory! #GigEm

Don't remember it at all. I think mine came in the mail.
Sounds like a low-key Ring Day! Hope it brought a smile when you opened that package! Gig'em!"

I've probably taken it off less than 10 times the last 45 years. Now that I live far away from Texas it's really cool when you see another Aggie wearing theirs.

All I remember is saving up for about one year so that I could afford to pay for it. I never really celebrated it at all.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

I can relate to this. I've worked overseas and it's always a great moment when I see an Aggie ring on someone's finger. Make instant connection that sometimes turns into a lifelong friendship.

Similar story here. Could not afford the ring when I graduated and saved up for it. Still remember the moment I finally got it. Gig'em!
