This and paying for the tuxes isn't a gift. It's just common courtesy.

As someone going to a wedding this weekend, I agree.

I did unique gifts for each groomsman. Unique humidor, nightstand safe, best man got an autographed practice jersey from Aikman that was just hanging in my closet for a long time.

I think the thought mattered to those guys. Everyone gives a flask or pocket knife. Something that they will actually use would mean more to me.

Ps congrats on the wedding!

I did the Tuxes and a nice cigar with a small bottle of bourbon. On the other hand, I don't use a single gift I ever received. Off the top of my head that list includes a couple of pocket knives, cuff links, & an engraved flask. I can't even remember the gifts from the other 2 weddings I was in

Pocket knives are cool but go with a good knife and not some cheesy one. I did Case mini trapper knives for my groomsmen with just a simple engraving of their initials on the blade. That was in 2016 and i know a few of them still carry it regularly (understandably, because Case knives are awesome).

Something like the knives pictured here. They are surprisingly affordable and something they will actually use. (i dont think this was the site i used so make sure to vet them properly before ordering anything)

Case knives, sure, if you like sub-par quality slip joint knives.

I'm shocked this waited for page 2. Figured it might mention the wife.

Depends on their age as well. Some gifts like a travel bag or nice knife are cool when you are just getting out of school. If they are older than 30 they likely already have enough of both so something like alcohol, cigars, or something they normally wouldn't buy for themselves

An engraved Staccato pistol should do it. Shows how much you appreciate them.

This isnt for everyone, but I had gotten all of mine (ushers included) custom belt buckles.

Looking for some ideas for Groomsman gifts that are outdoors, but not cheesy and cheap. Something they can actually always use.

Was looking at some nice pocket knives, but they all look super cheap......although I suppose it doesn't have to be engraved.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I agree with this completely. If you and your guys are older, then either make it individually personal or do tux rentals and booze. Or both lol. To me, the biggest thing is showing that you took the time to think about how to personally say thank you.

I'm almost 38 and divorced. When I got married I had something like 8 or 9 groomsman. Now, I might have 3 or 4, if even that, and they're all very different, so a one size fits all gift won't work.

Congrats on the upcoming marriage though!

This thread is pretty evident that even some of the best thought out gifts of some are meh to others.

Case pocket knives for example. Many have said they gave them (myself included) and how great they were. Many have said they don't want one/another.

It really boils down to a) taking the time and thought to get each groomsman something unique b) having a crazy budget and giving everyone something awesome like an engraved gun (even that won't be huge to some people, but I'd wager most people on the OB have a full group of groomsmen who'd love a gun or c) paying for their tux and a bottle of booze, cigar, something like that.

I have made several Groomsman gifts - one of the more popular options is Dopp Kits - that's what I made for all of my Groomsmen.

I have gotten one of these as a groomsman gift probably 10 yrs ago and I still use it in my travels every week. Very well made and perfect size.

My second favorite groomsman gift is a monogrammed Yeti tumbler that I still use about 15 yrs later. I guess it was made when Yeti was still great quality because it has survived hundreds of rounds on the bottom rack of a dishwasher and still works like a champ.

For starters: saving them the $ and hassle by going with suits over tuxes.

The first gift is to reduce the degree to which the experience sucks.
