And I was an FFL for 16 years and ran dozens of FFLs across the West Coast.
Key word there: "was".
Theres a link in this thread with one current example, I personally know an active FFL who said his experience recently was similar, and the last thread had a couple of current data points as well that all indicated that the current ATF enforcement actions go above and beyond how the agency has dealt with FFL issues in the past.
If it was just a clickbait article, I could understand your attitude. But Its a little odd you refuse to consider relevant info from multiple current FFLs just because of your past experiences from when you had one years ago. IMO.
It is a clickbait article. The one about Tom Harris in Lewisville? Total clickbait. That dude is full of **** and if you watch closely you will see why. For the record I bought the gun I carried today from his wife.
I get your point that it has been seven years since I left the industry, but I still talk to a lot of people in it. There were also a couple of FFLs on the last thread that had similar experiences. They are not taking licenses for clerical errors. They are just not.
That all being said, read what I actually wrote. I said exactly what you are saying. There is zero doubt they are being tougher to deal with. And it is coming from the administration. I agree with that. What I don't agree with is that they are doing something they haven't done before. Anyone who believes this is new to the industry. This has happened several times in the last 25 years.
It is not hard to satisfy the ATF. Argue all you want about the merits of the law on a different thread. If you are doing what you are supposed to under the law it is easy.
Last, about the video, if you pay attention it is pretty easy to see. They tell a story to fit your narrative that they want you to believe. And you believe it without really paying attention to the details. Same thing they do for climate change or any other hot button issue. ANd they are very good at it.
