It looks like there is a digital only hunting license option this year. You log your harvest into the app and don't have to mess with the little tags
There aren't requirements as to how precise your pin needs to be....that pesky neighbor? Yep that's where it was I think, never been much good at maps.Furlock Bones said:
I used the digital last year. I decided against it this year. Anecdotes of game wardens showing up as soon as someone logged a kill.
It's likely going to be the future. But I'll resist the intrusion for awhile longer.
yes. you have to attach something to the animal and write your info on it.FSGuide said:
Don't you still have to tag the deer? Didn't I see someone last year say that you check in online after a kill but you also have to have some sort of waterproof paper with your info attached to the animal?
Exactly. So why not just attach the paper tags?Furlock Bones said:yes. you have to attach something to the animal and write your info on it.FSGuide said:

you have to write the confirmation code on something. On the video they showed a piece of duck tapeFSGuide said:

Exactly. Though they might allow you to duct tape your phone to your deer.AgEng06 said:Exactly. So why not just attach the paper tags?Furlock Bones said:yes. you have to attach something to the animal and write your info on it.FSGuide said:

All you have to do is write a four digit confirmation number on a piece of tape and attach it to the deer. No personal information is required on the deer, that is submitted on the phone. I like that aspect that you don't have to deal with that small tag in the field. However, it gets more complicated if you hunt in an area without cellphone reception.
It will be interesting to see if you hear about game wardens actually using it to stalk hunters. I don't do anything illegal so I guess I shouldn't be concerned.

Did you have your DL, cuz if not, you're still SOL.
You have to carry ID with you to back up your license digital or paper.
If it's like last year, you use your digital tag....but you still have to put some sort of tag on the animal itself. Which defeats the purpose of a digital tag in the first place.DriftwoodAg said:

I'll still hunt though.OnlyForNow said:
Ya, efff that noise. The nice little white tag gets wired to my deer and turkeys. Won't ever do the digital license; unless the option is do it or don't hunt.
Yep.Furlock Bones said:ComeAndTakeIt said:

This is a classic argument of the surveillance state. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about.
