Looking to go on a 2-3 day fly fishing trip next year in late spring or early summer. What are some of your favorite trips?

Tough to beat montana in the summer but I've done that a few times so I was thinking about something new.

Preferably somewhere with pretty easy flights. Any suggestions in the Great Lakes area? I've never been there and haven't heard a lot about it.

I'm open to anything so share some of your favorites! Open to all types of fish. Just want to make some memories with my dad!

Something different. https://www.lamoscaflyfishing.com/

Captain Juan is awesome. He is the OG of fly fishing in Cabo.

I haven't done too entirely many trips, but the most epic without a question were 1. Backpacking into Black Canyon of the Gunnison for 3 days and 2. San Pedro, Belize.

If you like to fly fish....get yourself to Iceland. Easy trip....lifetime trophy fish...incredible destination. Easy to travel to...inexpensive. Everything you want to do is within 2 hours of Rekjuvik. My favorite....

You can see heads or tails on a dime in 100ft of water so your presentation has to be very good.

I would either be heading to Colorado or Florida (if salt water is an option).

Easy to fly or drive up to NM/Colorado and fish the San Juan. Not exactly spectacular scenery though unless you spend a little time up in Durango as well. But the fishing is great if you like guided float fishing. You can also fish some of the smaller rivers out of Durango like the Los Pinos if you like a little hiking as well.

Or maybe some saltwater Bonefishing down south?

Not sure when you went to Iceland, but I was there in 2022 and I can tell you it is far from inexpensive. Gorgeous and 100% worth every dime spent, but it ain't a cheap place to hang around for a week.

Thanks for the info so far! Keep it coming.

I've done Belize before and loved it.

The Everglades have always been on my list so maybe I'll look into that. Anyone with more info or recommendations for south Florida?

The big bones and chance for permit are in Key West. You can fly direct via American.

Another I'd strongly suggest would be to stay with your dad in Jackson, WY and fish the Snake and Teton Rivers with World Cast Outfitters out of their Victor, ID shop. Absolutely beautiful and big fish!

I've always wanted to do the Green River out of Dutch John.

Have you fished the Blackfoot out of Ovando?

Just got back from fishing the lower Deschutes, Fall River and Metoulius. The Fall and Metoulius are tough. Lower Deschutes was cool. For a dudes fishing trip I don't know if I'd recommend bend since it's so crowded. Lower Deschutes 2 night overnight would be the way to go at the end of May. Guy who owns Confluence fly shop actually grew up in Bryan and is the son of an old Ag. Nice guy too

We stayed in Sunriver and used a guide out of there. Took us up to the Crooked River, east of the Prineville reservoir.

We didn't use an outfitter per se... some areas are walk in you just have to rent local gear. Cant bring your own gear unless you send it early to stay in quarantine..... But there are some strong outfitters with private access to some trophy areas. Depends on budget just do your research. Everything we did there was incredible! So sign up for as much as you want. It's all worth it. The fishing is lifetime trophy style so whatever your budget allows can go as big or as public access cheap as you want.

Catch the stone fly hatch on the upper Rio Grande around Creede/South Fork.
Mid to late June usually. Plenty of public access.
