Is there a way I can go on the DMV and just cancel the trailer plate number or do I have to get involved with the guy who bought it from me?

When selling something that has plates, always pull them. That includes trading a vehicle into a dealership.

This sounds like a fantastic way to end up perforated in my mind.
Not saying you didn't have good reason to get you plates, but that just seems like a knock on the door at 7 pm might be an alternative.
You have a trailer that was previously registered and no longer operational?2wealfth Man said:
Is there any way to declare the trailer as scrapped or unusable? I actually have another old dilly trailer that I need to do this for. What happens when a trailer is destroyed in a wreck for example?
Yes fill out the form and CYA. I had the same issue. Sold vehicle to close neighbors. They bought it for their kid and he took on toll road with no toll tag on day 1. Tolls wound up on my account based off plate number. I sent toll authority my dated transfer form and told them to pound sand. Tolls were dropped.FSGuide said:Furlock Bones said:

We learned a lesson about this a few years back when we sold my wife's car. Dude didn't register it I'm his name and was driving the toll roads in Dallas every day. NTTA doesn't give a crap about titles and bill of sale. They came after us for the $$. I had to make a 3am trip to that guys house and take the plates off
