Time for the annual donation to TPWD. Last year was able to get Hill Country SNA Antlerless and Youth Choke Canyon Antlerless/Spike hunt. Not successful on either one. Would do Choke Canyon again but cannot recommend Hill Country SNA.

Think I'm going to give some a shot this year.

We didn't forget your Neches River NWR hunt.

Just made my donation! ALthough last year, we were drawn for the HC SNA youth hunt and my 9 year old shot his first buck.

Question, now my youngest is 8, so have 2 that are eligible for the youth hunts. How should I approach this? I tried to put them in separately with me as the chaperone, but it limited us as I was double booking myself. So then I just put them both down on the same draw, with me as the chaperone.

Is there a way to separate them? Or I guess if we get drawn I would want them both to get drawn anyway, so leave it the way I did it? I am just trying to figure out the best odds or best way to do it with 2 youth hunters. Does that make sense?

I put in for a ton of hunts yesterday, and my group has a lot of points in several categories that we haven't drawn yet. We drew Matador last year and blanked, though we passed several barely legal bucks and had tons of fun. Son drew 2x last year. Got screwed at Hill Country by a loud neighbor and missed his Javi hunt from being sick.

Got notified Sunday that a buddy and I got drawn for gator hunt at Guadalupe Delta. This was through the 2nd draw.

Anybody done any of the private land dove hunts? My brother and I got drawn for one down in Wharton with "Waterfowl Specialties"

I got drawn 2 years ago bu three curl in Ellis Co. They screwed us over...there were guys out of Wharton and S Tex. They sent us the location to meet a week before the hunt then changed it a few days before because the dove changed fields. Turns out they had us on the poor field then the birds showed up there so they moved us to what was the good field now the bad field. I'm pretty sure of the 15+ people there might have been a handful with 2 birds. Meanwhile I see my HS buddy post a picture (birds stacked) infront of their lodge, so I asked hey where'd you hunt he sends me a pin almost exactly where we were supposed to be, but got moved off of

Yes. Yesterday showed pending. This morning showed that it was completed

2nd draw is 10-11 days after 1st draw. Original winners have 10 days to accept & pay or it goes back into the pool f9r 2nd draw

Yeah, the odds are pretty long for that hunt . I put in for like 42 hunts. So I have some more draws to go lol. Some of those are youth hunts for my son though.

I only put in for 15. So at what age did you start applying for youth hunts with your son? I guess that's a subjective question and every kid is different maturity wise. Do they build points on those youth hunts as well? My son is only 1.5
