Checking to see if anyone here is interested as had some opt outs of my Axis hunt July 7-9th. It will be with El Sapo Guide Service and will be either in Rock Springs or Sonora (guide will determine next week). You don't pay the trophy fee unless you draw blood, cost is $3,000 not including lodging. Lodging is $500 for the whole weekend split between myself and anyone else that would be going. This is a rifle only safari style (ride around until spotted then stalk) hunt and suppressors are required if going to the Rocksprings ranch. What's the fee?

No there are no other fees, the $500 for the lodging is split between hunters, ie 2 hunters in group each would pay $250. Then you only pay the $3,000 if you shot and drew blood/killed an animal. So feasibly you have a successful hunt your total required due would be $3,250.

That's a damn good deal, had I not done mine back in March either I'd have JUMPED all over this too. I sent this to some buddies who were supposed to go with me but ended up not being able to.

Man man man, of all the weekends. Wife decided to have a girls weekend in OK so I'm supposed to have the 2yr old next weekend. I'll double-check and make sure that's still the plan. I've been wanting to book with El Sapo since you first posted on here a few years ago.

Well it looks like the name of the guide service rings true again. That is a sapo of an axis right there! The guy that owns that outfit hunts on a friend of mines ranches around Sonora/Junction. They always kill some studs.
