Anybody have one of these? Thinking about getting the 52 quart. Like the lighter design, but just want to confirm it holds ice as well as the heavier style.

Mine, on wheels, was delivered today. I'm told they are a "poor man's Yeti" and are great.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

They're not. But they are about 95% of one for a fraction of the price from my experience.

I still can't do the poor man's yeti for 200 when the igloo 52 qt is 30 bucks.

Have we now come full circle? Is an ultralight rtic basically just a fancy igloo cooler?

Academy had 20% off Yeti for Father's Day weekend. You could've gotten the wheeled Yeti for about 60 bucks more than the RTIC.

We've been using the US built rotomolded lightweight coolers from Walmart.

They hold up better than igloos, but weigh far less than yetis.

I sold my yeti and bought the Rtic lite cooler a couple years ago. It's definitely lighter and easier to carry fully loaded and still good keeping ice for a long weekend outdoors in west Texas heat. It doesn't match the ice retention the yeti had but still far better than standard igloo. Don't regret it one bit.

That's what I was afraid of and the reason for my post. It does look like solid construction though.

Where are you seeing this? I'm seeing $450 for a wheeled Yeti, which is beyond stupid for a medium-size cooler.

They were 20% off last weekend at Academy. Sale ended on the 20th. For some reason I thought the RTIC was more than $300. $360 for a Yeti vs $300 for the RTIC. I'll update my post.

I fully understand they were 20% off last weekend at Academy. I got that from your first post. However, I'm not getting the one with wheels. I'm considering getting the standard cooler in the link I posted, which is $200. And a much lighter cooler that doesn't feel like 10 cinder blocks before I put anything in it. Im just trying to figure out if the lighter cooler comes with some downside (like not holding ice as well).

I have one and I leave it in the back of my truck for 4 to 5 days at a time when at the ranch. It performs great. For the money it does what it should do and comes with a food basket for the inside.

If you are in Houston, go by the RTIC store. They have these in the "open box" section for $50 off. Picked up the red white and blue one this last weekend.

I have one. It holds ice better than a $50 igloo. It is not as good as the full weight Yeti.

I have one. Works great. I like the dimensions on it. I'll replace my Coleman's with these as they break.

Was gifted one by a client last deer season and I like it. It holds ice for the 4 day Mexico trips. Good size for drinks or food inside then we use our big 140's for meat.

Sweet. 4 days is right at what I'm looking for. That gets me through a long weekend at my boy's baseball tournaments, a trip to the deer lease, or a short vacation. Looks like I will be picking up one today.

I've got one. It sucks. Ice doesn't last 24 hrs in the heat and the rope handles are awkward to carry. I wish I had just paid more for the Yeti.

Do you have a link? What's the brand name?

I have a yeti tundra, and it's def. heavy empty.. so this got me curious.

The RTIC is 7 pounds lighter. (30vs37)

For a full load of the listed ~80 cans, that comes to 92lbs for RTIC vs 97 for Yeti. ~5% difference... I'd say that's almost negligible, certainly not significant.

The interior sizes are nearly identical
RTIC 14.125"H x 19.5"W x 11" D = 1.753CF
Yeti 14.1"H x 19.1"W x 11.4" D = 1.776CF or 1.3% more volume.

Yet yeti says 82 cans, 62lb ice, RTIC is 78/53.

That's 17% more ice for that yeti in only 1.3% more of the space. That's why they cost so much more. That's science right there.

RTIC just put all their coolers on sale. Hard coolers are 10% off.
