My late 40's eyes aren't what they once were and I am getting tired of seeing everything I used to see in 4K outside as if it were HD or SD. I am correctable to better than 20/20 with my indoor glasses, but Iwas wondering for those with experience what type of glasses frames hold up and stay on best for doing stuff outside, or am I asking too much of them?

If they're good enough for Rambis, they're good enough for you!

Oakley has a line of eyeglasses. I damaged my main pair (Ray Bans) on vacation and found a one hour glasses place and settled on the Oakleys and couldn't be more happy, especially as much as I am outside. Best I've ever had in that regard and wish I'd made the switch sooner. They aren't cheap, but are definitely worth it to me.

+1 for Oakley. My brother is military and from my understanding they are the preferred frames for people.

Depends on what you're exactly using them for outside. I will say that I have historically worn oakley rx frames for most things, though since I don't get my hookup on glasses anymore (Docs sold their practice that I worked for) I actually went the warby parker route this time. Poor "optician" that set my glasses up for me.... had no idea on 95% of the questions that I asked.

That being said, if you're wanting something "active" outdoor, I'd look at wiley x. They are wraps but have great coverage for outdoor stuff and are nigh indestructible. Throw some transitions xtractive (if they still make those) on there and you've got a pretty decent pair of variable tint lenses.

I got glasses about a year ago after I couldn't follow the puck when I was watching hockey on tv. Went with Warby Parker for standard glasses and then bought a pair of Smith prescription sunglasses this year.

Love the Smiths. Will not buy Costa ever again.

My Warby Parker glasses came with a screwed up frame that had a twist on the bridge. Took them into a Costco in Kalispell and they adjusted them for me at no cost.

If your prescription will fit the insert, a lot of shooters use Rudy Project glasses - mainly, because the shields are cheap to replace.
