This is where I get mine. They don't have all of them, but the prices are awesome. Never had an issue with them.

I've gotten a couple pairs off eBay since eyeguy moved to the gun business and we haven't done any group buys in quite awhile. Just check the seller and make sure they've got lots of reviews a bd a good reputation (I think jomashop linked above sells on there and I've bought from them through that). Look for a good seller and a good deal and you should never pay close to what they cost on costas website. I've got some harpoons that are a decade old from eBay that were way cheaper than buying through a main retailer like their website, academy, etc.

Wherever they sell Maui Jim and buy those instead.

Yeah, I moved back to Oakley from Costa. Seems Costa is going down the crapper with their warranty, customer service and insane prices.

I used to love Maui Jim's however in recent years their warranty has regressed and is almost pointless to use.

I've switched to Gatorz and while they aren't a "fashionable" I've found them to be a better lit of sunglasses overall for me.

Woot for sure. Keep an eye on it and there will be a day or two they have them. Happens every month or two.

See, I feel totally opposite. I've had almost no issues with the warranty since they switched over to Luxottica (who is the same group that owns Oakley and most of the eyewear industry). If anything they're more prone to replace vs repair. I'm getting a pair replaced right now. I took pics of the issue last Wednesday. They sent me an email the next day with options to replace (multiple frames, lens colors, etc). New ones will be here by Friday and they're sending me a better pair than I am replacing. The damaged ones are 580 plastics and they're sending me 580 glass in a better frame color/lens color combo than I had. I've had this same experience 4 or 5 times over the last couple of years. Maybe I'm in the minority, but this process is way easier than it used to be, and it's FREE.

Also, for some perspective on the price thing…I sold Costa through Academy for a while about 2008-2010ish. Prices were pretty hard set at $189 for the lower end glass/plastics, and $239 for 580 glass. The last 3 pairs I have had have been well under $180, and the pair I'm having replaced right now was sub $100.

I've really got no complaints.

Check Amazon. The costa store there had a bunch on sale recently. I replaced a pair for my son at about half their original price via that sale.

I have recently picked up a pair of Hook and Bullet for inshore fishing. I have been impressed with them so far.

eBay… only buy from the bigger reputable sellers and only buy new glasses.

Just warrantied a pair of 580G Costa Blackfins I purchased 6 years ago. Rubber was falling off the frame. Received a brand new pair of the updated model in less than 2 weeks. Second pair I've warrantied since the Luxottica conversion with zero issues whatsoever. I believe under the old program they made you pay shipping, but you don't even have to pay that anymore.

Well damn. All the rubber fell off of mine in less than two years. Costa told me I was SOL. So I switched. I had bought Costa because of the warranty. When it didn't pay off I looked elsewhere.

I've warrantied Costas prob over half a dozen times and I've never run into a single issue, under the old ownership or new. Not saying I don't believe you as I've heard others echo your sentiment. I've just never experienced it. They only ask for photos and original purchase receipt. You were able to provide both of those items and they flat out said no? What was their reasoning? There has to be more to the story I feel like. I don't get it.

Put me in the camp of those that have had great warranty claim experiences both pre- and post-Luxottica. I currently own 3 pairs of Costas and have had each of them replaced at least once via warranty. I also have a pair of Bahios now, which I like as well.

I have warrantied multiple pairs of costas, all with zero issues. Most of the damage was user error as well. One pair was over 15 years old.

Every few months we have a thread on here with people talking about how Costa has gone downhill, etc. My experience could not be any more opposite. They have been fantastic to deal with each time.

My experience with Oakley and Maui Jim were awful. The MJ were nice glasses, but their warranty and service have been terrible.
Sweet Kitten Feet

I had all that. I want to say they don't extend warranty to prescription frames. I had no problem with the lenses. Anyway the shop said they had much better warranty experiences with Maui Jim.

I switched to Smith from Costa a few years ago. Couldn't be happier. I got tired of sending my Costas back for warranty stuff. So far, my Smith's have held up much better.

I sent in an old pair of black fins. We'll see what they say if they "fix em" or replace them.

They are certainly the old style, so I'm hoping for a brand new pair. Lens was also damaged from a drop on concrete.

Im in the Smith camp. Converted from Costa. The Chromapop glass mirror really show the redfish.

Also got a pair of Hook&Bullet. They are a Texas based company, glasses made in Italy. super light.

H&B have a more light transmission generally than my Costas or Smiths.

Costas just ended their summer sale. I bought a pair for 30% off. I bet they have something coming up for July 4th or Labor Day. Just need to watch for it.

This was me. Had two pair of 580s that the rubber on the nose piece and on the ear pieces fell off or broke apart. These were probably 10-12 year old glasses. Held on to them for several years in disrepair until two weeks ago when I said F--- it, I'm going to try out Luxottica's warranty. So I went through their process (have an account with Costa to login for repair and warranty claims), took pics of each pair and submitted. Next day I get the shipping label from Luxottica to return them for replacement. Sent back both pair and replacement pair were received within 5 days. Didn't spend a dime out of pocket, unlike the old Costa system where you paid shipping and often times, some fee for repair or replacement. Very happy with the outcome.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.
