Looking for advice on buying a portable a/c unit that can plug into a normal socket.

Mostly to use on our covered patio but also which we could use in the bedroom if say, the house a/c went out on a weekend. (Like this weekend)

Anyone looked into these?

Be hard to find one that does both. For our outdoor covered patio/kitchen area I have 2 Portacool's that we use to get a cross breeze going that works well. Also have couple ceiling fans installed under the covered porch.

My folks have a portable black and decker. They put it on their open patio so someone who doesn't want to get in the pool can sit in front of cold air, but it doesn't by any means cool the patio. It does cool a room nicely when running on a generator due to power outage.

We've had a Delonghi portable unit for about 8 years. Bought it at Sam's at the end of season. It's been very useful for AC emergencies for us, friends and family. I also have used it to cool the garage.

Set-up is easy. Plugs into a standard outlet, install window bracket, hook up the exhaust hose to the unit and window bracket and good to go.

Never used it on outdoor patio.
