Having them over for burgers was the best part
You should. People are wasteful. Nothing better than saving a somewhat pricey item to show back off to the person that threw it away.
Great job on the rework Watchfull! Brazos is right too. My Ryobi electric power washer stopped working like Christmas lights. Put up last use working great. Next time, dead. Changed the GFCI, and fired right up. I wonder how many electric power washers are in dumps that just need a $20 part. Used as teaching lesson for kiddo who wanted to toss it and get another.
I don't want to start a new thread just to ask you this. My Ryobi didn't die over the weekend, but is f'ing up.
I did about an hour's worth of washing in the back, no problem. Then moved to the front, hooked up and started again. The garden hose was long and I was probably impatient, so I think I may have dry accelerated it at first. It sprayed for a couple of seconds then shut down. I went through several GFCI trouble shoots and knew it was getting power. Unplugged the hose, used shorter one, etc.
Finally I disconnected the spray hose at the base and the motor kicked on. Sprayed out of the base hole with force. So I check my spray hose, made sure no kinks, plugged back in. This time it did this pattern -- rev up, shut down, rev up, shut down, rev up, etc. About every second. The spray hose would contract and I could feel vibration in the wand when it revved. Trigger did nothing.
So this time I disconnected the spray hose at the wand end. Boom, engine kicks on full (no rev) and water sprays out of the end with force.
So does this seem like a bad connection / seal, or faulty wand? I haven't taken the wand apart to see if it is stuck in some no man's land of triggering start but not keeping it going.
