Anyone have suggestions for small batch ready mix in Fort Worth. I need 1.2 yards and don't want to rent a mixer or buy that many bags.

Forgot to mention, full size concrete truck isn't getting through the driveway, has to be a smaller option

Quick Mix Concrete

Fort Worth, TX 76110

Our trucks are mobile batch plants. We carry everything needed to produce high quality concrete on the truck. The concrete is metered as it comes from the chute assuring accuracy. How you want it and when you want it.

Any commercial plant is probably going to cost you a 5 yard minimum at least. You may look into renting a towable mixer.

Or call up a volumetric mixer company; they'll be pricey…

I have no personal experience but am in the construction industry to know about them and applications.

This is the way. Tucker concret/construction has this typ of truck in College Station and they work very well

What is your lead time for a project and can you give cost per yard or is that part of a custom estimate? I'm in Ft Worth and you have just saved my life haha

This is the route I think I might go. I have a rear entry garage with a 14' gate and a 90 deg turn to get where the concrete needs to be poured. I'm concerned any mix on site trucks are either going to hit the eaves of the house or not be able to make the turn b/c of the gate.

Get a concrete buggy that will hold about a yard and get a truck to mix in front and dump into the buggy and drive the buggy around to back. Bery easy

Are there any houses being built or other projects in the area? I'd go talk to the foreman/super at one of those and see if you can tack on to their next concrete pour. You'll have to pay for 2 yards.

Rent a tracked Georgia buggy from United rental or Home Depot, they hold about a half yard. Have your crew ready and it should be relatively painless.

If you're gonna hafta pay for two yards of concrete, May as well go ahead n find a use for the extra amount. Sidewalk, slab, etc. Go ahead and form it up while you're at it.

I agree with the motorized Georgia buggy, but I'd use a volumetric mixer instead of a ready mix truck. The volumetric mixer makes the concrete when you're ready for it, whereas a ready mix truck will have had the concrete already mixed and there's no telling how long it's been on there. The volumetric mixer will also only charge you for what you use, even though it will be significantly higher per cu yd than a mixer.

Georgia Buggy is what you need. Find one/rent one so that the Quick Mix can fill that and you drive it back and dump and then go get some more.

OP, if you want to get in touch with Kirk, he may be able to get a volumetric into your driveway or bring a buggy with the truck, PM me and I'll send you his direct cell number.

I had a similar configuration (a little bigger) and went through all the options like you are doing. I got to talking to a neighbor who wanted to pour a small patio in the back of their house too. We split a truck load and they wheel barrowed the concrete back with now problem.

It was for a small basketball court. After I did it, a couple other neighbors did one. Point being, if you are trying to save some money, I'd bet you could easily find someone to split a truck load and wheel barrows make quick work of it.
