I'm taking my 12 year son to Argentina next month for a mixed bag hunt. I'm looking for some type of youth recoil shirt / pad to save his shoulder. It won't be as much shooting as a normal dove trip because we're only doing dove one day (duck, perdiz, and dorado fishing the rest of the time).

I've got that evo shield shirt with the sleeve in it, and it works great. You take the pad out of the sealed package and you have 30 seconds to mold it by inserting into the sleeve and shouldering the shotgun over and over before it hardens. From what I can tell, they don't even sell the adult one any more, much less a youth.

Any ideas?

I have used these t-shirts with my kids. Also most shooting vests have an insert pocket that you can insert a gel pad for recoil.

You may also want to look into buying just a recoil pad. I have one and works well. Saves you from having to buy multiple shirts that you may not use much.

Pick up a youth sized shooting vest, my son's is a Browning and they come in black, navy, maybe? camo. Buy the additional gel insert that slides into the chest pocket. Remember, summer here is winter there, so it won't be too hot down there to wear a shooting vest over his regular clothes. Plus he can keep a handful of shells in the vest pockets. I would go that route in a kiddo instead of trying to purchase one of the form fit/body specific padded shooting shirts. Gun gauge, type, and fit are also worth thinking through but you mentioned high volume dove only one day, so perhaps less of an issue. I'm a huge fan of the 28 ga in general, but particularly for high volume dove in Argentina.
