I have a Cub Cadet 54" ZT1 zero turn I need to replace the blades on. I am no expert when it comes to mechanical things or power equipment, so looking to just confirm the type of blades I need.

Looking through Amazon I see descriptions such as Mulching Blades, Reaper Blades, High Lift, etc. I just want blades. I do have issues with grass and dirt clumping up under my deck and it's a nightmare to clean out. Wondering if the blades that came with my mower are contributing to that or if it's just normal.

Get the high lift. They are for a normal mower set-up. They will give you the best cut. Low lift is for if you have a vacuum on the mower. Mulching blades and mid lift blades are just compromise blades.

I buy all my blades for my CC from amazon now. where I mow blades only last a year anyway no matter they type or who makes them......might as well save a little money

I have the same mower. Never has any issues with grass accumulation under the deck. The original blades that come on the mower are mulching blades I believe. I swapped them out for high lift blades. I believe the high lift blades will help your problem with grass accumulation.

Grass clipping buildup on the deck is usually caused by cutting tall grass and when it dries it is difficult to remove. It is best to scrape it off right after mowing and some apply a lubricant such as Fluid Film or Pam to the deck, though it will not keep your deck totally clean and will get blasted off in a few mowings.

Do you have the standard discharge chute or did you have a mulching kit installed on it?

Regular chute - medium or high lift blades.

Mulching kit - mulching or gator style blades
