I wouldn't buy a camper made during the pandemic. From late 2020 and into 2022, the quality was horrible and even high-end brands were POS.

There were numerous stories of people flopping down $300k for a class A only to drive it off the lot and find out the RV had major issues. Into the shop it went waiting on parts for up to 6 months. I know of 2 people personally that bought a modest bumper pull and it went immediately into the shop for months and it still has issues later.

Quality was so bad that some of the YouTube RV channels I watched said to bring your own surveyor/ inspector to closing and have it inspected before you signed the papers. This is on a brand new RV.

Do you still want to camp where your tent took you? If so, maybe look at an off-road capable van or a Four Wheel Camper Truck camper.

Smaller than a trailer but will work for a family with a kid. We have friends who do this with 4 kids. Plus with a van or truck camper it's a lot easier to back up if you're camping on BLM/Forest Service land.

If you're wanting all the comforts of home and a campground the 5th Wheel is a better option.

Wife and I have a modified Ford Transit. We regularly camp on public land. Have taken the grandkids too. Love it!
