Anybody ever see these for sale down south?

Or would I have to drag one down from the north?

Googled "sheep wagon".... now I know what it is!

cut & pasted from Google:

Sheepherders lived their solitary lives in wagons like this throughout the West while tending large flocks of grazing sheep. Did you know this about sheep wagons? Depending on where they were used, sheep wagons were also called "camps" or "arks". The sheep wagon was invented in Wyoming in 1884.

This one is a little different. It is one you can rent for the night.... vacation type.

They still use them in Wyoming. I've seen Peruvian men camped I then with a flock of sheep around it with howling winds and subzero temps. They had a wood stove for heat. Sending the summer in one up in the Medicine Bow summer range wouldn't be too bad, though.

Used to run into a few of these in northern Nevada out on BLM land. Most were Basque herders.

I know where there are probably a dozen or more of those, but they would not be for sale.

Every year from the late 70s thru the mid 80s we would go to Craig, Co to a ranch that a Basque family owned and operated for Mule deer and Elk hunting and to buy show lambs. I forgot the old man's name and hopefully his sons are still ranching the place, but they had about 50 sections or more of prime grazing country and lots of Columbia-cross ewes and Suffolk and Hampshire bucks.

Saw many of those camps wagons and those Basques were some hardy sob's.

You would think that these could be purchased reasonably compared to a small camper. Nope! These are high dollar even used they bring premium prices and very rarely come up for sale. Used primarily in remote sheep camps in Colorado and Wyoming Tradition..
