I just acquired a pair of wool socks from this company. I've never heard of them even though they're only a few hours away. They've been family owned for over one hundred years. Most of their items are too rich for me, but I love the old fashioned, traditional look of their sweaters and hoodies.

The socks are very comparable with Darn Tough or Smart Wool. I like to support companies that still make their products here in the U.S.A. so I thought I'd share them with you. I love the traditional, vintage look of their hoodies and sweaters. Just thought some of you would enjoy knowing about this company!

Love the idea of American made clothes, and I don't mind paying for a good pair of socks. I took a look at their plain white tee shirts….$58 bucks is way high for me but I do wander what a 58 dollar white tee shirt feels like.

This company has a lot of stuff on sale right now. Their clothes are made in the US & they are fairly expensive.

However, I can vouch for their Fleece Hoodies, they are legit & these are not the ones that you let the wife girlfriend steal. These are for legit cold weather. If its 60degrees, this isn't the hoodie you want. It's gotta be legit cold to stay in these things.

Note: some of their gear (bags etc) are not made in the US, but the clothes are.

There is a noticeable difference in getting a good, high quality t-shirt made out of better grade cotton vs the absolute cheapest, bottom of the barrel stuff you get coming from China in most instances.

Here is a place in state that uses Texas cotton and is spun here in the US. T-shirts are a little more expensive ($28-$35 on most of them) but not 58 bucks bad. You can definitely tell a difference, I have a few of their items.

Full disclosure: I know the guy who started this company, as I trade cotton with him through my job. He's since sold it to some friends who now run it, but outside of them being some Tech grads, it's a well run company with good products.

Another company using American wool and makes their clothes in the USA is Duckworth Co. Their merino wool clothing is so nice and well made but pricey, they have one or two sales a year and that is when I suggest buying some of their clothes.

Another good one (less apparel but a lot of other stuff) for wool items is https://www.faribaultmill.com/

Yeah. I like the idea as well, but no one can see the US FLAG or MADE IN CHINA on the tag when I'm wearing it and I can get 14 shirts for that kind of money from Academy when they have their sales.

NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

If they couldn't adapt with the market, that's their fault. I love supporting American businesses too but $58 for a tee shirt is outrageous….for me. To each his own. If you have "eff you" money, live how you wanna live. Unfortunately, I don't.

Fan of their jeans. Comfortable especially when carrying.

If your market includes using slave labor, it will be hard to compete on price without some slaves of your own. You have to rely on the goodwill of people not wanting to incentivize slave labor and not wanting to send money to our #1 geopolitical enemy. But to each their own…

It is most unforunate, but the blame can't be placed only on the consumer. This is capitalism at work. There are likely many places to place blame that has nothing to do with their profit margin or their consumer. Until you find Americans to work for 14 hours a day and a shiny nickel, this will be the case. We can also point to our government. There are probably some things they have done that have created additional costs that allow foreign markets to outcompete us. Unfortunately, the item quality does not change appreciably but the cost to consumer does. And therein lies the problem.

Think about the forces at work that allow a boot maker to ship American materials over seas, have them assembled, and shipped back as completed product for less than it would cost to have them shipped from Maine to texas for assembly and distributed for sale.

It blows my mind.

The only anomaly to this phenomenon is the USPS. I know it seems high to mail a letter but I won't drive across the street for the current price of a stamp. Of course, their quality of service reflects that but I guess that's another topic for another day.

US textiles died for lots of reasons - mostly old plants and I suspect bad work forces.

Texas Jeans are made in NC for about the same price as wranglers.

Clothing has an incredibly high mark up, and lots of inventory cost.

Diamond Gusset blue jeans are very comfortable made in USA jeans.
Designed to accommodate a man's anatomy, family jewels fit better.

Prison Blues make solid work jeans. I can't afford to buy clothes at the prices some of these products command so I'm sticking with $35 Wranglers. I can remember the smell of western wear stores back in the 70's. The smell of boot leather and denim has always stuck with me. Most denim is prewashed and probably fabricated by a different technique that has removed that "denim" smell that would take several washings to begin to fade out.

Japanese are fanatics about old school denim jeans and will pay insane amounts of money for them.

Unions (and their Dem allies) are responsible for a lot of this.
