Looking to buy a new rifle cleaning kit for my .270 and wanted to see if there was a particular brand/kit you guys recommend. Thanks!

Whatever is on the shelf at Academy.

I bought one of the more delux kits in the aluminum case years ago. Doubt I will ever have to buy another, short of being on a trip and needing a cheapo Outers or whatever brand in a pinch.

I use Otis, but grew up with a kit by Hoppes that worked well also.

No kit. Get a good ball bearing cleaning rod (i use tipton), a bore guide, a set of brass jags, a couple nylon brushes in the appropriate diameter, couple bags of cotton patches and a big bottle of hoppes, then if you want to get in the weeds figure out what kind of copper and carbon removers you want to try
In the field i keep an otis kit (in the hockey puck looking pouch) at camp and in my daypack i carry a ziploc with a couple dry patches, a couple individually packaged ballistol wipes, and a length of weedwacker string with one end cut at a point and the other end melted to a little mushroom, and sanded down to the right diameter to pull a patch down my barrel. Believe i learned that little hack here on the ob
