I'd put this in the "new gun day" thread but technically I've owned this gun since April. Back then, I flew up to Q in New Hampshire for a customer build day. Then it sat at Q for a few months during a recall. Then my cerakote guy (Redacted Concepts) accidentally scratched it after finishing so he wanted to do it again but I had a hunting trip and we were pushing the deadline and he needed to restock a specific color paint for this job. So we slapped an ODG paint on there while he got that specific paint. After the trip (New School of Traditional Cookery with Jesse Griffiths where I got a nice buck), I took it back and my man finished the job. So finally, I have my gun in the final form I envisioned. This is his pic.

It was awesome. I've mentioned here before but Jesse and I grew up together. Basketball, scouts, neighborhood homies…we go way back. We lost touch after HS because there was no internet and no one had cell phones. So catching up with him was the highlight of my trip. That said, holy hell we ate like kings the entire weekend. And, since it was my first hunt, it was cool to shoot my first deer with Jesse. We did some butchering and some cooking classes. And we ate such damn good food, did I mention that? I was going to do a write up on it but it was kinda personal (like Sean Penn and the snow leopard in Walter Mitty) so I just let the trip be my own experience.

Food was good too.

Mind if I ask what that hunting trip costs? Has not heard of that before.

His cookbook is great. Just did the venison shank onion soup with the cold a few weeks ago.

Haha. We noticed that, too. That was just the picture. The gun was swaying on the line when he was taking pics and the computer program made it look flaccid as it pieced the different pictures together.

Another new cerakote day! This was my first ever gun purchase and I wasn't quite using it much so I added a few upgrades (barrel, guide rod, trigger work) and a paint job. Still needs new sights and possibly some stippling work but so far so good.

I got bored so I turned my Mark IV Lite into a mini- mamba and added some paint to the upper. Also painted the upper on the FN 502 (lighting sucks, looks better in person)
