We got a new dog a couple months ago, a 15lb terrier mutt. She destroys within a day any soft chew toy/rope toy we give her. She has a couple Kong rubber toys that are lasting but she is only interested when there is a treat inside them. Other than hard nylabone type toys, which I read can fracture teeth, is there a brand of toy that last more than a couple days for aggressive chewers?

We've never had an issue with the Nyla bones and teeth.

We have found that the best favored dog chew toys are the $1.39 plastic door wedges at Lowes. It sucks, because the dog chews up **** you'd not like to have to replace...But if this is what the dog fixates on, and chews NOTHING else, these are dirt cheap to replace as a dog toy:

You can thank me later.

Not really a toy, but my dogs all love Bully Sticks, and you can get ones thicker or thinner, depending on how quickly your dog goes thru them. As aggressive a chewer as your pooch seems to be, maybe try one of the braided ones.

Deer antler without points seem to work fine for us…

Nyla Bones and similar products work for my lab.

We've had luck with the West Paw brand. We haven't had luck with any plush toys, even the ones labeled for tough chewers.

Edit to add: our vet said no nyla bone for our super hard chewer. She said nothing that you can't dent with a fingernail. He has broken teeth chewing before.

A water Buffalo or Bison horn will last forever. Dogs love them.

Not exactly a chew, but we have had good look with the Nerf brand toys holding up. They are harder for the dogs to destroy by chewing on them.

"Firehose" toys hold up pretty well against my mutt. He gets the sqeekers out but the rest lasts a long time.

I don't remember the brand, but we had some for our mutts that were hollow and you put an empty water bottle inside. Then replace the water bottle as it gets chewed up.

Water buffalo horns from chewy.com.

Anything West Paw. We have a ridiculously heavy chewer. An 8" deer antler can be chewed down to a nub within 2 hours.

But West Paw toys have held up for years.

The single best dog toy I've ever found is a lacrosse ball. I've had some extremely powerful chewers, but those damn balls are pretty much indestructible.

I've had good luck with the orange chuck it balls. My Brittany can destroy anything but the balls hold up

Tucker got a new Kong toy for Christmas. Kong is the only brand he doesn't destroy. Our vet said no bully sticks, horns or other chews that could cause stomach/ intestine problems one day. He shreds ropes and soft material toys so those are out. The Kong rubber bones and round treat holders have lasted for years.

Black Kongs are the toughest version (possibly largest as well.)

Only thing my lab and Boykin can't destroy.

For soft plush toys I would try the ones by Fluff & Tuff. My dogs love to shred toys, and these are the only ones that have held up. They've yet to get the squeaker out of one. Bark Box toys are better than most, but only last a few minutes.

Ruff dawg for my two Aussies. Made in 'Murica and they have a guarantee that if the dog ever chews them up, company replaces them free. I have 4 or 5 of them now and they've lasted months with very little wear.
Fore warned is fore armed.
