Dr Knight passed away last week. Some of you may have had classes from him in Range Mgmt, Ecosystem Science and Management or under the current department name, Range, Wildlife and Fisheries Mgmt. He was incredibly dedicated to the undergrads. Coached the plant team for 40 years, Range Club advisor 40 years also. I was his first grad student in 1982.

He and Karen from the Veteran's affairs office got me into A&M and I'll be forever grateful to both of them. RIP Dr. Knight.

Dr. Knight was awesome. He got me into RLEM after I had screwed up with grades in a different major and helped me get my degree from A&M. He is one of the main reasons I was able to stay in school and graduate. I will never forget that guy. Man, this sucks hearing this news.

One of the best. Had him multiple classes. Spent countless hours in his office during his Grass ID class. Dude could tell you what type of grass it was no matter how bad of specimen it was. Often wondered if he was just messing with us rattling off what species a single blade of dead grass was. RIP

Spent a lot of time with him, as I was a student worker in the department.

Dang. I was an RENR major that didn't want to keep getting advising by WFSC. He took me in and treated me like any RLEM student. He bailed me out with me screwing up my internship. And even awarded me the senior merit award from their department to a non major student. I didn't know him well because I was an outsider to their major, but he was always so gracious to me. I'll always be grateful. This is hard news for me on Christmas Eve.

He let me in to A&M, and I say let me in because my gpa was like a 2.89. I'll forever be indebted to him. Here.

I worked a full time job my last couple of years at A&M he used me a test subject while they were restructuring the RENR program. He basically let me take any class I wanted as long as I could make a case for it. He is one of the biggest reasons I have this ring on my finger.
