Maybe I'm conflating the speed with ability, and because it would take "longer" than what I'd like I'm not giving its power enough credit.

It's not the fastest thing in the world, it's a bottle jack like you'd use on your truck. Having the 2 handles makes the work go quicker, but it's a workout if you're doing lots of wood. This isn't my video just one I found on youtube. Seriously it's surprisingly good.
