So this thing was a data safe in its former life. It came out of a shop that closed down and my husband brought it home. It weighs about 3000-3500 lbs. He moved it on a flat bed trailer and picked it up with a tractor. He moved it into the corner of the shed with a pallet jack and left it sitting up on boards so that he could get a pallet jack back under it to move it again. The buyer would need to remove. We no longer have access to the tractor or trailer. My husband said he can move it to the door of the shed but that's as far as he can go with it.

It has 2 sets of doors. I think it was designed to have some kind of crazy fire protection for computer hard drives. When we got it we had Griffin Locksmith come and set the combination. It's 4 numbers on a dial.

It's like 8' tall. Did I mention it was massive? We're in College Station and need it gone in the next month or so, but sooner is better than later.

MAKE OFFER! This seems like an Outdoors Board kind of project.

Ok, here are the measurements. Apparently "Massive" isn't descriptive enough and I should have included actual numbers.

Him-Hey I bought a safe! It's really big and they were practically giving it away.
Me-(picturing an Academy Cannon safe) Where are you going to put it?
Him-it'll have to go in the shed because it won't fit in the door of the house.

Him- I spent $100 on a locksmith for the new safe
Me- practically giving it away huh?

Then it arrives. On a flatbed trailer. More WTF. Then the tractor. Then the pallet jack.
Me-F this. I'm going in the house.

Fast forward about 8 years. We're selling the house.
Me-so about this stupid safe…
Him-let's sell it in the garage sale
(Day of garage sale passes)

Him- let's see if anyone in OB wants it

OK, so what are the INSIDE dimensions of this? I might be interested in it and can move it.

Also, outside dimensions may be good to figure out which doors I need to get it through. This will require a little bit of planning.

He just texted me to say that the outside dimensions are 35x80x61 but it seems bigger than that. Stay tuned.

My employer bought an old bank with a bunch of safety deposit boxes. About a year after buying it the bank he bought it from called saying there was one box that still had stuff in it. They sent a guy with a giant drill and he drilled the locks and opened the box.

After he left I spent the rest of the day opening all the rest of them. We have a giant box of keys but the guy did not want to wait for me to find the key. Of course none of the other boxes had anything in them.

It is. Good catch. My husband works for Frank's. It came out of their shop in Burleson that closed.

Anybody want this thing? It's a conversation piece at least.

Well since he is already down a 100.00 for a free safe I will come move it for 400.00

Look at it like this he had it for 100 months at 5 dollar rental a month

I've seen them go for $500 on auction sites. I have also seen them go for free because cost of delivery is usually $400-500 for just across town. The security rating is usually not great (RSC) but the fire protection is usually very high. You may want to post a picture of the ratings labels.

I bought a used commercial AMSEC safe last year of nearly that size. Biggest issue with gun storage is trying to stabilize the humidity for a safe outside. I am very reluctant to drill through the concrete to plug in a golden rod or similar.

Ok I thought y'all might like an update. We have sold and moved this beast! My husband used a pallet jack to move it to the door of the shop (and got stung by a scorpion in the process).

Today the buyer (brave soul that he is), and his brother, brought a skid steer and heavy duty trailer. I couldn't be there when they were loading it but I snagged a couple of pictures off the security cameras.

I was very relieved when the buyer texted tonight to say that they had made it home safely. I could just imagine the disaster that would result if that thing came loose going down the road.

Never doubt the power of Texags and determined men lol!
