Anyone have a big ass fan (or similar) for their patio? I'm in Houston so I want some solid airflow to knock the mosquitos dicks in the dirt while I sit out back and yell at the TV on Saturdays. I'm interested in hearing reviews and model recommendations for a new build.

We have a 6' on our back porch. Porch faces north so I pucker a bit when we get a storm with winds but it's been good for 7+ years. We're in Austin, so less humidity than Houston. Also have one in living room.

We are in Montgomery. I've got an 8' BAF on the back porch and love it. Makes even the hottest day tolerable on the porch. We also have one inside and it's honestly too much for our living room.

I have one made by Craftmade, but not sure which model. It moves a ton of air, but the dang mosquitoes are still around. It helps, but they dive bomb in and land on something to keep from being blown away. Spraying back yard with Bifen XTS helps much more.

Didn't like the price. Bought some big azz knockoffs from Home Depo for less than half the price.. Work great.

Got one in our Catholic Parish. It's a big metal building with 4 roll up doors. Father insisted that the name BAF stay on the control box. It will move the air for sure, but they are pricey.

During one of our breakfast after Mass, my niece made a comment and said that is a big fan. Father was standing there, and I corrected her that it's really a BAF. There was a good chuckle after that.

Check out Fanimation as well they have some more stylish options as well. I have several outdoors at my house and indoors at the coast.

We have a Minka Aire, which is similar but way less expensive - works great.

We have one. I think it's an es6. It moves a lot of air and is really quiet. The remote has stopped working but can use the app or alexa. Not sure I'd get another. I don't think the home grade ones are as good as the larger commercial ones

Wouldn't this be a product worth getting a generic model? Seems the engineering could easily be reversed. IE Yeti into RTIC etc.

Macro Air is an equal to BAF and about half the cost. Buy through an electrical distributor

We have 3 modern forms on our porch and they have been good so far. Only a year or so in. No issues so far.

I have a fanimation 8'. Works like a champ at about 1/4 the price of BAG. Looked at BAF before deciding but couldn't justify the price for the back porch. It's been great!

We have two from Tropos Air which are BAF knockoffs and they work great. I think they are the 72 or 84 inch model. You have to separately add the light kit which is dumb. I actually control both fans using one remote which is convenient. Around 5 or 6 hundred each. Bought from Home Depot online I think.

Just installed this 100" Bannon today. Had to work through a wiring issue (wire pulled loose from factory plug) but once that was resolved it seems good to go. Moves a lot of air, pretty impressed with it.

Their 'Hiaku' is a nice one for a patio space. Over 2 years with one that runs much of the summer and no issues yet. Dry/hot climate, though, so not much of an endurance test yet.

Do most of these fans have variable settings. I have porch that it would be perfect for but wouldnt want to sit under it if it was too much air. Would i need a remore control or do i have to wire fan controller box on the stone surrounding walls? Thanks

We installed the i6 84" with a 60" downrod. Moves some air for sure. 18ft high ceiling.

Yes. I'm in commercial construction (where we install fans much bigger than what you see here), and we rarely install BAF brand fans due to cost. Pick literally any other HVLS (high volume, low speed) fan and it performs to the same specs as a BAF brand, for less money.

I got an HVLS for my patio, 60", at home depot, all of $90.

well.. was $90 lol. I think it was more like $120, but got it on a sale.. fast forward a year and inflation does its thing.

Correction, 52" not 60".

If you where doing a 2400 sqft warehouse what would you install? I'm looking to install one on the back porch that 60" would probably suffice and another for my 60x40 metal building
