Not one single paint issue or any other issue with my Yoder. Enlighten us with the additional "flaws" please.
If you like your Yoder that's great. Would encourage anyone to do their research.
Seriously, what are other flaws? I am looking as well and want to know...

Same here… zero issues including paint with my Yoder. Several owners just on this thread with zero issues. US made and until something breaks or fails, I am a big Yoder fan.

The Yoder vs Pitts and Spitts battles get intense. I don't own either but have helped cook on both and had bbq off both. If I ever buy a pellet it will be a Pitts and Spitts because I think it's a better looking grill, has a better hood and racks, and it's made in Texas instead of ****in Kansas. Both are extremely high quality from a build and controller aspect.

This is a little bit off-topic, but where do you guys get your pellets and what kind do you like to use?

Rec tec pellets and lumberjack pellets. And lately, Knotty Wood almond tree pellets.., may be my new fav. Just received Knotty Wood Plum. Need to try these soon. Heard it's more in the pecan realm but better flavor. We'll see.

All on Amazon .

I'm not a big Traeger Pellet Grill guy (I have a recteq) but I usually order the Traeger signature blend pellets from Amazon, reasonable cost and sometimes same day delivery. Seem to burn off pretty clean and no issues with the cook. I used the RecTeq pellets for awhile but they take some time to come in having to order direct from Recteq.

Looking at the Rectec 1070 for an outdoor kitchen. Anyone have one and can comment on performance? I'm really curious about the ability of it to grill/sear at higher temps. It says it can get up to 700F, but good if someone can confirm performance. Debating adding a flat top cooler to the outdoor set up. Would save me almost 2k if the Rectec can handle most of my needs.
I bought the RecTec 1070 and Blaze Griddle for my new home's outdoor kitchen. Can't provide my feedback for another month or two though until both are finished being constructed, I will try to remember to report back.

Check your local Walmarts. My coworker picked up a couple PitBoss Austin XL for $297 on sale right now. He got the last two at the Stafford store

I have been using a "championship" mix from WalMart. I don't know enough about all of the varieties and comparing them is even harder than comparing actual grills. I am happy with whatever .... so far.

I had a thread about this a few weeks ago. Pulled the trigger on a ZGrills 7002F yesterday on a flash sale on their site. Can't wait to get it going!

P&S and Yoder make fine products, but my money went to Lone Star Grillz and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm considering selling my BGE for a LSG charcoal setup as well.

I have an Ironwood 885 Traeger. Been using it for just over 3 years now and on average I smoke 25-30 briskets a month on it. The main issue I have is a grease fire occasionally if I fail to clean it. Other than that its been a great smoker. The Traeger app works great as I can be on the golf course and keep an eye on my temps.

I am due for a new here in the next year and I am considering a Pitts & Spitts Maverick 2000. The Maverick 2000 will easily fit 9 briskets at once but it is on the pricey side.

For my searing and grilling I enjoy using my PK Grill. You can't go wrong with a PK.

My recommendations
Traeger
Pitts and Spitts
Yoder

Will be a nice set up. Please report back as might be what I go with and thankfully have time before I need to pull the trigger.

Traeger is not the "Yeti" of pellet grills. They are the "Igloo" of pellet grills.
Traeger is the over expensive pellet grill that wants to sell you the extra pieces of the grill separately, I had a Treagor and now have the regular old Pit Boss you find everywhere, the Treagor broke and the Pit Boss chugs right along, really no different than BBQ pits these days, just pick the one you like or that your wife thinks looks good and they all work. Im not over excited about the grills that try to add too much electronic stuff like WiFi, really just making people lazy, get up and get your ass out there and check the meat, besides, its always good to taste it as you go!

Got a brisket going on my Yoder as we speak. Very solid pellet grill. Gonna try a foil boat wrap this time.

Dang… if you are spending a couple grand on briskets each MONTH, you should not be bothered by the price of a P&S or Yoder. I would think they would pay for themselves very quickly at 25-30 briskets a month….
AggieOC
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't cook to make big profits plus the price of briskets are not what they used to be at .98 cents a lb. On average I pay 3.99 a lb and I don't like cooking anything under a 14lb brisket. Plus if I am not cooking for family and friends I am helping out with a fundraiser.

But I will definitely be pulling the trigger on that Maverick 2000 in the near future.

On another note I think pellets play a big part of the smoking on a pellet grill. My go to is Lumber Jack Supreme Blend or the Traeger Signature Blend they are both very similar and good quality.

Awesome. 100% worth the wait, but the wait sure wasn't fun! Not sure if you are local but their showroom in Conroe is pretty cool (that's where I picked up).

I find this to be 100% true. I think many people overlook the role that quality pellets play. I used to use Lumberjack, as it was my favorite. Then I couldn't find/get them for a while. So I switched to Bear Mountain BBQ after a lot of trial and error. I like them, and the variety of flavors I can get. I've never had much luck with the Treager pellets, but I've never tried their Sig Blend. I might need to search for Lumberjack again if they are back to producing more again.

Yes sir Joe I have the same problem down here in South Texas. Once my place runs out of Lumber Jack it takes several months for them to restock. I also use the Bear Mountain as its easier to find. The local Tractor Supply usually has Bear Mountain for $9.99 a 20lb bag. Their gourmet blend is very similar to the Lumber Jack supreme blend. The Dick's down here has Lumber Jack in stock sometimes as well.

I think I bought my Primo XL from you a few years ago. You've got the shop down in Houston right?

I'm looking to renovate and move to a small 24 inch gas grill or instead a black stone flat top, a 2 burner gas cook top, sink, storage drawers, slide out trash. And a built in area for my baby - the Primo.

Need to work w someone to see the best layout for my space. PM me or share other contact info if this is something you can help with? I live up in BCS. Thanks!

Are you in Corpus by chance? I just ordered my first pellet smoker (Grilla Silverback AT). Curious where you typically find good pellets if you are in CC.

I live in the RGV we have a local vendor out of Pharr South Texas Outdoor Kitchens (STOK) that carries a variety of the pellets in particular they have the Lumber Jack and the Bear Mountain. I would check the local Tractor Supply they carry the Bear Mountain.

I just bought the RT 700 today. I'm sure the P&S is fantastic but the Maverick 850 at $2,000 you still need to buy the Wi-Fi module at $175. So it comes in $1000 more. P&S in a different class with the Yoder. This is my first pellet grill. I already got a gas grill with a searing unit built in. We shall see. I'm looking forward to getting my RT.
