I have a few covert cell cameras i'm wanting to put solar panels on this year. Looking around i wasn't sure if there was a compatibility issues or if he covert cell camera has to use covert solar panels.

wouldn't the panels sorta not make them covert anymore

So we have been running them for years - you have two options

1) buy a 12/6v converter cable from
Covert and run it to a 12v battery then hook up any 12v solar panel to the battery

2) they sell a "wing home" brand solar panel with built in lithium batteries for $60 on Amazon - comes with multiple cables to plug into various cameras; the covert code blacks are 6v cameras - the new wc-30 is their first 12v - hopes that helps

The wing home does not charge batteries in the camera so any cheap batteries work for backup, it's a external battery pack / solar panel keeps itself charged

Don't buy the HME panel/battery from Academy. They will not last 6 months. I went through 4 of them

If they're from Covert, expect a 40% mark up

I just use a 12 V battery and can get over 6 months of run time

What type of adapter to the battery (I'm assuming a typical marine battery?) do you use?

Exact opposite experience here.

4 that work very well.

How long have you had them?

Elusive Wildlife sells solar panels that will work with covert. I bought a few a couple of months ago.
