This bill in the House was political theater.

I'd like to say it's going nowhere in the Senate but with McConnel and Cornyn you never know. I take nothing for granted.

I believe civilian disarmament happens as an incremental process.

The Democrats have learned much from Trudeau in Canada over the truckers strike.

Step one will be buybacks with your tax dollars.

Step two will be "debanking" like they did in Canada. Cut off access to your money until you comply.

Step three will be forced confiscation of what's left that they can find.

I just hope I'm wrong.

It's not going to be local cops that collect guns. Local cops didn't murder the Branch Dravidians. It will be agents of the federal government. Local cops will be the first to be disarmed or absorbed into the federal force if they meet the loyalty tests. Go read how the nazis did it.

Likely, but as others have said, the Senate is suffering from severe derangement these days.

Good news is the torpedo is in the water for this one. Fat Nadler jumped right into an obvious trap and repeatedly affirmed the weapons banned in this bill are in common use.

If by some hellfire fueled catastrophe this thing passes the Senate, it will get nuked by the Supreme Court.

Local LEO already are enforcing unconstitutional and oppressive gun laws. You have your head in the sand if you think they will stop before removing them from your cold dead hands.

There's a reason Pelosi was "giddy enough to climax" and it has nothing to do with public safety or some false notion of protecting citizenry from... "oh the horror"... those evil guns. Everything to do with weaponizing the federal gov't to disarm the population which is really the last thing standing between these crazy leftists and their ultimate utopia of becoming what amounts to a world like the Hunger Games.

Like others have said, it shouldn't come down to relying on local LEO to have your back (which in large part they won't). And if the Feds thought they couldn't rely on local LEOs to enforce, they'd just increase the staffing in the FBI to do their bidding like they are doing with the IRS right now.

Covid should have taught everyone that their freedoms are an eyelash from being taken away. Already hearing about "state of emergency" with monkeypox and there's only 5000 cases or so of that in a pop of 330M and its not deadly. Covid was a trial run.
