I hear around Hondo they just grind up their dove raw and squirt some lime juice on it. Spread that bad boy on some saltines and go to town.

That pigeon thread was worth the price of OB. Yes Haa!

When I lived in Tahoka, TX, we had one show up on the back porch. My wife worked from home at the time and sent me a picture afraid it was sick. I saw the bands on its leg and realized what it was. By the time I got home from work, he'd moved on, but it was interesting because the closest neighbor was miles away and none of them did the pigeon thing.
