Anybody done it. Bought my first one this week and being delivered this week.
Son graduated high school and have some time to spare now plus get him involved as he heads to Junior College. Just something to putz around.
I have a pretty strong (400lbs I think) magnet that I use for my shop, have been thinking about giving it a try. Plenty of bridges around here to give it a go over creeks, bayous, etc. Who knows what you would find.
There is a section of Buffalo Bayou in Houston that hasn't been developed/modified on the slopes - that's because right after the WONA, the Confederate arsenal dumped all of their weapons, cannonballs, etc. there to keep the Union troops from having access to them. Over the years people have pulled some out here and there. Have always wanted to give that area a try just to see if I got lucky with an old musket or something. But knowing my luck, I'd pull up an explosive cannonball or mine or something and be up a creek.
