I am considering putting a high seat on my ranger similar to this:

Does anyone have any experience with these? Any input is appreciated.

Ive used them on a jeep before & loved them, I'm just curious if the suspension on a ranger can handle it ok (fyi i have a 3" lift on my ranger).

That one looks pretty well built. The one I had was nowhere near that fancy, but it was pretty much useless for anyone over 10.

Was that due to size or durability?

Both. It was too small for anyone with an adult sized butt, and too short for anyone with adult sized legs. It was also about 300 bucks, and I got it specifically to haul kids around.

We've had one on our Ranger for almost 10 years. Several times I've had two adult males up there at once, driving around in rough country. Never had any issues at all. I can see how some more flimsy high seats could be problematic, but our experience has been just fine.

I have one of their original designs on my xp 800. It's well built and I've never had a problem with it. I liked the idea of being able to remove the seat when not needed. In 7 years it's never been taken off once since the day I picked it up and they installed it.

probably a little too low, but they make back rests that attach to your yeti

Have a ranch amour one exactly as shown with the exception that appears they've done a great improvement on the flooring(mine is just expanded diamond mesh). 2019 ranger XP 1000. Never had a problem with it. Forewarned, it is pretty heavy and the bed shock cannot handle the weight to tilt it with the chair on. Dropped it one of the first times I had it on and it blew the under bed shock up . It's heavy, but means it will last. You can let the bed down, but someone will have to get behind it and help support the load as you drop it down. Based on its weight alone, I highly doubt you'll take it off. However, you can if you have a buddy or two around relatively easily as its just held down by the 4 tiedown cleats in the bed. During hunting season I'll always have two adults up there for either transport to the stands or the occasional hog hunt. I did mod the lock down latches and u-bolted the bed/frame together to eliminate the possibility of the bed coming undone and dropping someone. It happened once when crossing a creek bottom in a pretty significant slope where I think the frame flexed just enough to come unlatched. Luckily they leaned back a couple of inches and nobody was hurt. Enough to make me consider it though and never have to risk it again. Simple $20 in bolts at the store and a hour of work for 100% assurance.

Are you trying to freeze folks to death?

No but he's definitely trying to blow the OP's budget. That YETI attachment is probably double the cost

The Ranch Armor guys have modified the design a bit: it has 4 attachment points to the cab so the bed won't tip.

I think those guys really do their homework.

Thanks for your feedback on your seat!

Looks great for a crew size. Not recommended for single row SxS.
