Thing worked great for many years. I need to replace it but looks like there are more options. I really dig my portable Oregon sharpener. Any reason I should look at other brands? Maida? Grandberg? Powercare? Are these knockoffs of the Oregon? I want one that I can use in the shop or field. Thanks.

I've got one on my list to get. It's made in Germany by Pferd, and Stihl rebrands it and sells it under its own name.

They get high reviews, but I can't personally say ... yet.

I have one of these and really like it. Not a heavy chainsaw user so the few times a year I need to sharpen a chain this makes it quick and easy.

I sharpen my own chains a lot using a shop machine (Sharpall).

But when I just need to get by quickly, I use a rotary type that plugs into my cigarette lighter in the truck. It is quick and gets the chain sharp enough to keep going.
