How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've got my annual in-laws week at Port A coming up mid July. I'd like to sneak off from the group and do some fishing bearby in the surf. Any recs for where to go, bait, rigging, etc? We stay at Cinammon Shores - so it would need to be a reasonable golf cart's drive down the beach from there. And obviously (I hope), I don't want to be one of those guys fishign right in the middle of a bunch of people in the water.

You can fish from the Jetty in Port A which is a decent cart ride. Or, just take the cart down the beach until you find a good spot. If it's a weekend you may have to go a ways down the beach.

First time surf fishing? If so, there is a decent thread on what you need and getting started I'll try to dig up for you.

Edit to add: the beach is first come first serve, so if you find an empty spot and are fishing and people decide to set up next to you, that's their decision.

It's been a long time. Had a place in POC for years growing up and fished the surf some - but mainly waded the back lakes. But again, it's been a long time and I don't even have any gear/rods/tackle left. I'll be basically starting from scratch.

EDIT - thanks for the link - that's perfect!
