I have a couple calves in Ganado I want to get slaughtered/processed and was looking for a recommendation on where to get that done at.

Previously I had the work done at Prasek's in Hillje but they are unable to take care of it for me this year.

I haven't been to Kasper's in Weimer since the ownership change. I have heard good things about Jurek's in Markham, Terry Pope in Louise, Maeker's in Shiner and Glenn's Packing in Halletsville but have no personal experience at any of these places.

I live in NW Houston so I was looking for something that was not too terribly out of the way from Ganado/NW Houston.

I know about 2-3 folks that wanted the same thing done and pretty much all were told its 10-12 months before they can get to them.....all different packers. if you want it done, better hop in line now.

I'm curious how these places operate.

I was certain Praseks didn't have the facility for the killing. So are you killing and cleaning, and having them process? Or do they do the entire thing?

Prasek's I was having it delivered quartered.

I know some guys that do mobile processing if you're interested.

I've got one at K&C in Navasota right now.

I've had deer done at poppy in Louise and was not impressed

I would say check with Novaks Meat Market in El Campo but imagine they are busy as the wharton county youth fair just ended a few weeks ago

Novaks has availability but their preferred slaughterhouse has a backlog.

There are two not far from you down Hwy 111 in little bitty Markham.

B&S Meat Market & Jurek Smokehouse.
i have not used them but have friends that had deer and hogs processed.

I used Ladds in Needville but don't know if they are in business.

Darryl Popp in Louise is very good.

just had some done in weimar. was no wait time but he just opened for business a couple months ago so he might be backlogged by now. $1.35 pound for vacu pack + $125 slaughter fee. The guy in markham i believe is $1.37 lb + $100 slaughter. both do good work
